Saskatoon Blades News Release
Here are the 2019 Western Hockey League Playoff scenarios for Friday, February 22.
The Saskatoon Blades will clinch a berth:
If Saskatoon beats the Brandon Wheat Kings in any fashion (7:30 p.m. CT/WHLLive.com).

After narrowly missing out on a spot in the 2018 WHL Playoffs, the Saskatoon Blades have proved they belong in the post-season conversation throughout the course of the 2018-19 WHL Regular Season. Most recently, an 11-0-2-0 stretch has them at 37-13-8-0 through 58 games for 82 points entering play Friday.
With 11 games remaining in their season, the Brandon Wheat Kings have 63 points and can achieve a maximum of 85 points by the end of the regular season. A win would clinch one of the top three spots in the East Division for the Blades. Even if the game were to be extended to overtime or a shootout, the Blades hold the tiebreakers against the Wheat Kings.
2019 NHL Draft prospect Kirby Dach is showing why he's the second-ranked skater in North America according to NHL Central Scouting with 60 points (22G-38A) in 52 games. Defenceman Dawson Davidson leads WHL defensive scoring and the entire Blades roster with 66 points (10G-56A) in 58 games.
Offensively, 64 points (36G-28A) in 58 games from Max Gerlach have aided the team's run of 13 games with at least a point. Airdrie, Alta. product "Uncle" Gary Haden has also found success with the Blades. The 19-year-old has recorded 58 points (27G-31A) in 54 games this season, with 55 of those points coming in 45 games with the Blades.
The Blades currently hold a 4-0-1-0 record in the season series against Brandon with Friday's meeting the final one of the regular season.
The Prince Albert Raiders, Everett Silvertips, Vancouver Giants, and Portland Winterhawks have already secured their spots in the 2019 WHL Playoffs.
