
2015 Florence Freedom Season Begins Thursday

(Florence, KY) - The Florence Freedom, presented by Titan Mechanical Solutions, are ready to launch their 2015 season on Thursday, May 14 against the Joliet Slammers with Opening Night, presented by UC Health. First pitch is set for 6:35 p.m.
2015 features numerous celebrity appearances at UC Health Stadium. Right off the bat, the Freedom welcomes famed members of the Big Red Machine, Johnny Bench and George Foster, on Friday, May 15th. Bench and Foster will coach the team and sign autographs for the fans. The evening is presented by Snappy Tomato Pizza and Kerry Toyota. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m.
On Father's Day, Sunday, June 21, the Freedom host Cincinnati's Baseball Dad, Ken Griffey Sr. Fathers and their kids get to play catch on the field before the game and Sr. will be there to greet them. First pitch is set for 6:05 p.m.
On Wednesday, June 24, Duck Dynasty's Mountain Man comes to UC Health Stadium. The first 1,000 fans will receive Duck Quackers courtesy of L&N Financial. The evening is presented by Brooks Meats and the fun gets started with a 5:35 p.m. first pitch for game one of a double header.
Fans of wrestling and America should get excited about the Freedom's All-American weekend, July 3rd through 5th at the ballpark. On Friday, July 3, famed wrestler Sgt. Slaughter will be in the house, with first pitch at 7:05 p.m.
Wednesday, August 5th is your chance to take on a former MLB slugger in a home run derby. Jose Canseco will be at UC Health Stadium and will challenge a lucky fan in a home run derby presented by Save Discount Drugs. Fans can try out for the derby on July 27th at 4:00 p.m. or they can enter to win a spot in the derby at Save Discount Drugs in Covington. First pitch on August 5th for the double header is set for 5:35 p.m.
The celebrity appearances continue on Sunday, August 16th as the Freedom get you ready for some football with former Bengal Ickey Woods. Arrive early as the Freedom will be giving out Ickey Woods "bobbleshuffles", presented by the Kentucky Lottery. Woods will sign autographs on the concourse to raise money for the Jovante Woods Foundation. First pitch is at 6:05 p.m.
Theme nights dominate the headlines again for the Freedom in 2015. Florence is teaming up with A Characteristic Attitude to bring fans three Princess Nights this year. Come dressed up to the game as your favorite princess on Friday, June 19, presented by Metzger Eye Care. Princess Night II is set for Friday, July 24 and is presented by Union Pediatric Dentistry. The final Princess Night of the year is on Friday, August 28th. All three games begin at 7:05 p.m.
The return of Superhero Night presented by Jack Lillie Insurance is Friday, August 14th as the Freedom will wear "Iron Man" jerseys and are teaming up with the Cincinnati Comic Expo to bring real live superheroes to UC Health Stadium. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m.
Fun characters will also roam the concourse on Kid Lit Night (May 29), Harry Potter Night (June 5) presented by Northern Kentucky Community Action Commission (oh, yes, there will be owls thanks to Raptor, Inc.), Star Wars Night (June 12) presented by Swan Floral (the team will wear special Yoda jerseys that night) and Fright Night on August 27th.
Every day of the week has something special in 2015!
For all Sunday-Wednesday games, kids eat free thanks to Meijer.
On Winning Wednesdays, if the Freedom win, every fan receives free Airheads Candy after the game. But if the Freedom lose, every fan's ticket is good for a future Wednesday game in 2015! Look in your Money Mailer for special family offers to the Freedom good for Wednesday games.
Thirsty Thursdays, presented by Nash FM 94.1 & Kerry Automotive of Florence, return in 2015! Every Thursday game features $1 beer and $1 ice cream sandwiches.

The Freedom are teaming up with Elite Pyrotechnics for Fireworks Fridays presented by Arlinghaus Heating & Cooling. Fans will enjoy a spectacular fireworks show after every Friday home game (and on Saturday, July 4th!) In addition to the fireworks, one fan will win round trip plane tickets to Chicago, New York or Charlotte each Friday night thanks to Ultimate Air Shuttle.
The Summer Shandy Concert Series returns on Saturdays in 2015 thanks to 92.5 The Fox and Kerry Automotive. After every Saturday game while the adults enjoy the concerts, kids get to play kickball on the field!
