
2014 Asheville Tourists Schedule Released

ASHEVILLE, NC - With the conclusion of the 2013 season, the Asheville Tourists released their schedule for the upcoming 2014 season. Asheville will host 70 regular season games with the Tourists playing 70 road contests as well. McCormick Field also has the possibility of hosting an additional four post-season games.
Opening Day of the 2014 season consists of a home Thirsty Thursday game on April 3rd against the Delmarva Shorebirds. This is one of 12 McCormick Field Thirsty Thursday's scheduled throughout the season. Asheville will also play a total of 32 Friday, Saturday, and Sunday games in the Blue Ridge.
The marquee matchup comes on July 4, 2014 when the Asheville Tourists play host to the Lexington Legends. After spending the fourth in Rome last season, fans will be able to watch the Tourists at McCormick Field on Independence Day.
All 13 South Atlantic League teams will play at least one series at McCormick Field in 2014; while the Tourists will travel to all 13 cities for at least one road series. The Tourists face off against their South Atlantic League rivals, the Greenville Drive, a season-high 18 times. Asheville also has 15 match-ups with Lexington and will face both the Rome Braves and the West Virginia Power 14 times.
