Charleston, WV (September 3, 2013) - The West Virginia Power released their 2014 schedule today which opens at home on Thursday, April 10th. The 2014 season marks the tenth season of Power baseball at Appalachian Power Park.
The team opens the 2014 season on the road with a six game series against the Lexington Legends and the Asheville Tourists before returning to Appalachian Power Park for the home opener. The opening homestand will feature six games, three each against the Legends and Tourists. The Power will then hit the road for a brief three game trip back to Lexington before returning home on the 21st to wrap up the April home schedule.
A selection of collegiate games are scheduled to return to Appalachian Power Park. That schedule will be released at a later date. Additionally, the West Virginia State High School Baseball Tournament will return to the park June 5th through 7th.
2014 brings every team from the Southern Division except the Charleston, SC RiverDogs through Charleston, giving Power fans the opportunity to see the up and coming major league stars for the Royals, Giants, Rockies, Red Sox, Braves and Mets. Promotionally, the Power are building the 2014 calendar which will feature many of the time-tested promotions as well as some exciting new additions.
"We've had a solid line-up of promotions over the past few seasons. We plan to carry our tried and true promotions into 2014 as well as add other promotions and events to highlight our 10th season in Appalachian Power Park," stated General Manager, Tim Mueller. "We will be working in the coming months to fill out the promotional schedule and 10th season celebration."
This fall, many more announcements will be made including a new logo celebrating the Power's 10th season in Appalachian Power Park.
