Spokane, WA - The Spokane Indians announced today that Cooper Elementary and Madison Elementary have been selected to participate in this year's Itron Champions Program.

Every year, the Itron Champions Program provides two low-income Spokane schools with a visit from OTTO the Mascot and 250 Indians tickets to distribute to their students as a reward for hard-work, good attendance, and achievement in the classroom.

"The Itron Champions Program is a terrific opportunity for the Indians to support our local schools and students," said Otto Klein, Senior Vice President of the Indians. "It gives students added motivation to perform academically, and provides tickets to families that might not normally have a chance to attend an Indians ballgame."

Cooper Elementary will have their assembly on Wednesday, June 8th at 1:00 p.m. while Madison Elementary has their assembly scheduled for Tuesday, June 14th at 2:00 p.m.

"Itron is proud to support local students through the Itron Champions Program," said Jared Serff, VP of Human Resource. "At Itron, we aren't simply developing the next generation of smart metering and distribution technologies, we are investing in the next generation of leaders. Itron upholds the importance of education through the work we do every day and in our brand promise: Knowledge to Shape Your Future."
