2007 MLB All-Star John Lackey Set for Rehab Start with Bees

SALT LAKE CITY (May 2, 2009) - The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim announced today that right-handed pitcher John Lackey will make a rehab start Tuesday, May 5 in the Bees home game against the Tacoma Rainiers. Game time is 6:35 p.m. at Spring Mobile Ballpark.

Lackey, 30, suffered a strained right forearm in spring training and has yet to make an appearance with the Angels this season. In 2008, he went 12-5 with a 3.75 ERA in 24 games (all starts) with the Halos. Selected an All-Star in 2007, Lackey led the American League with a 3.01 ERA. He spent two seasons in a Salt Lake uniform in 2001 and 2002, leaving with an overall 11-6 record and 4.06 ERA in 26 games (all starts). The Abilene, Texas native was originally selected by the Angels in the second round of the 1999 draft.

The 14-7 Salt Lake Bees continue a four-game road trip tonight against the Las Vegas 51s at 8:05 p.m. and return home Monday, May 4 for a four-game series against the Tacoma Rainiers. For more information about Bees season tickets, which start as low as $7 per game, please call (801) 325-BEES.
