El Paso Diablos News Release

EL PASO, TX- El Paso's offense continued to run roughshod over the visiting Laredo Lemurs, pounding out 19 hits (including four each from Patrick Arlis and Maikol Gonzalez) en route to a 10-6 victory over the Lemurs at Cohen Stadium.

The hit tally is at 42 over the last two games for El Paso, who won their third straight game over Laredo to complete the team's second three-game win streak of the 2012 season. The second consecutive barrage of base hits backed starter Freddy Flores (2-2), who won his second straight start with six solid innings of work.

Trailing 3-2 entering the third, the Diablos put together another huge inning after scoring eight in the second inning of Wednesday's game. This time, El Paso pieced together nine hits, five of them for extra bases, and scored seven runs to take a 9-3 lead. At one point, Gonzalez, Reid Fronk, Mitch Einertson and newcomer Welington Dotel hit four straight doubles, battering Lemurs starter Manny Ayala (2-3) who took the loss for Laredo.

Eight of El Paso's starters knocked in at least one run, with Gonzalez knocking in a pair to pace the team.

The Diablos are at 15-29 after winning eight of their last ten and have the opportunity to earn their first sweep of the year taking on the Lemurs on Friday. The finale of the four game series is scheduled for a 7:05 p.m. start.
