Rebels Host Oil Kings in 2026 Red Deer Advocate Home Opener

WHL Red Deer Rebels June 17, 2026 - RED DEER - The Red Deer Rebels will kick off the home portion of their 2026-27 WHL Regular Season against a familiar foe. The Rebels will host the Edmonton Oil Kings for the Red Deer Advocate Home Opener on Saturday, September 19 at 6 p.m. at the Marchant Crane Centrium. This marks the 11th time the Rebels are playing the Oil Kings for home opener with Red Deer going 5-4-1 in the previous 10. WHL Red Deer Rebels June 8, 2026 - RED DEER - The Red Deer Rebels have completed a trade today with the Regina Pats. The Rebels and Pats have swapped first-round picks at the 2026 CHL Import Draft. The Edmonton, AB native is coming off an outstanding season with the Bonnyville Pontiacs of the AJHL. Marc Habscheid resigns as Rebels Head Coach

WHL Red Deer Rebels June 2, 2026 - RED DEER - The Red Deer Rebels today announced that Marc Habscheid has resigned as the club's head coach. Habscheid leaves after one season with the Rebels in which the club went 26-36-4-2 and returned to the WHL Playoffs. He earned his 600th career WHL coaching win February 3 in Prince George.
