Sioux Falls, SD (Mar. 30, 2015) - The Sioux Falls Skyforce announced that they have acquired Rodney McGruder. The 6'4'', 205 pound guard is likely to be active for Sioux Falls' game in Grand Rapids this Wednesday, April 1.
This season McGruder appeared in 26 games (seven starts) for the Maine Red Claws before being waived on March 25. He averaged 9.6 points and 4.0 rebounds while with the Red Claws. McGruder participated in the Boston Celtics' Pre-Season Training Camp prior to this season after spending last season with Hungarian team Atomeromu SE Paks. While in Hungary, McGruder appeared in 29 games and averaged 14.4 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists.
Collegiately, McGruder played four seasons at Kansas State where he made 135 appearances (101 starts). During his time at Kansas State, he averaged 11.7 points and 4.8 rebounds. As a senior, McGruder was named to the All-Big 12 First Team after averaging 15.6 points and 5.4 rebounds in 35 games (34 starts).
