ROUND ROCK, Texas - Welcome back, baseball! The Round Rock Express open their 19th season of professional baseball in Central Texas on Thursday, April 5 against the defending Pacific Coast League Champion Memphis Redbirds (St. Louis Cardinals affiliate). First pitch on Opening Day at Dell Diamond is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.

The five-game homestand begins with a ceremonial first pitch by Texas football legend Earl Campbell on Thursday. Opening Day, presented by Dell, features the first Original Thirsty Thursday, sponsored by Firetrol Protection Systems, with discounted draft beer specials and $1 sodas. The first Brew Review will also take place, where fans can sample different offerings from Brown Distributing in the Nolan Ryan's Beef Fireball Grill located in right field.

The games on both Thursday and Friday will feature postgame fireworks. Dell celebrates Opening Day with fireworks on Thursday prior to the first Bud Light Friday Fireworks show of the season after the 7:05 p.m. first pitch on Friday. The world-famous Budweiser Clydesdales will also be on hand prior to Thursday and Friday's games. Fans can visit the steeds outside the Home Plate Gate at Dell Diamond.

The first 3,000 fans through the gates for Saturdays at the Ballpark, presented by A+ Federal Credit Union, on April 7 will receive an Express cap thanks to our friends at the Nyle Maxwell Family of Dealerships. First pitch against the Redbirds is set for 6:05 p.m. because The Spazmatics will take the centerfield stage following the game for the first installment of the St. David's Summer Concert Series, presented by Dell. All fans with a valid game ticket will be invited onto the field to catch the concert up close and personal.

The Round Rock Chupacabras will make their first of five appearances on Sunday, April 8 as the team kicks off Minor League Baseball's nationwide Copa de la Diversión campaign. Copa is a season-long initiative to embrace the cultures and values of Hispanic and Latino fans in MiLB markets. Round Rock was selected as one of 33 teams nationally to participate. MiLB officials will unveil the 2018 Copa de la Diversión trophy before the game.

Sunday is also H-E-B Kids Day, with events outside the stadium and postgame run the bases for all kids 12 and under. All members of the Round Rock Express Kids Club will receive front-of-the-line access to postgame run the bases every Sunday. Finally, the homestand concludes on Monday with the first $1 Hot Dogs and Sodas, presented by Mrs Baird's.
