Lubbock Renegades News Release

LUBBOCK, TX: March 3, 2008 - The Lubbock Renegades of the arenafootball2 (af2) were assigned another rookie looking to make a name for himself at the professional level, as defensive back Larico Stevenson was assigned to the Lubbock Renegades.

"Larico was overlooked because he comes from a small school," said Renegades Head Coach Rodney Blackshear. "I believe he can be an instant impact that adds depth, and he is a physical corner that will push for a starting spot."

Stevenson turns pro after completing a college career at NCAA Div. II University of West Georgia in Carrollton, Georgia. The Olive Branch, Mississippi native spent his junior and senior seasons (2005-2006) at UWG and combined for 87 tackles (70 solo) and ten interceptions in 21 games. The 5'9" 180-pound defensive back was selected as a 2006 Second Team All-Gulf South Conference member after leading the Wolves in interceptions (4) and compiling 28 tackles (22 solo). Stevenson, 23, prepped at Olive Branch High School before beginning his college career playing at Northeast Mississippi Community College (Booneville, Mississippi).
