
Olympic Gold Medalist Kristi Yamaguchi to Toss Coin at Hawaiian Islanders game this Friday

HONOLULU â Olympic Gold Medalist and World Champion figure skater Kristi Yamaguchi will participate in the ceremonial coin toss this Friday when the Hawaiian Islanders host the San Diego Riptide at the Blaisdell Arena.
Yamaguchi, who won the gold medal at the 1992 Olympic Winter Games in Albertville, France, also won two world figure skating championships (1991-1992) and was a four-time world professional figure skating champion (1997, 1996, 1994, 1992). She signed a contract with Aloha Shoyu Company to promote the soon to be launched, new product called, "Aloha GOLD" Soy Sauce. Yamaguchi will appear in television and print ads featuring the new Soy Sauce as well as make personal appearances to promote the product.
Partial proceeds from the sales of Aloha Gold will be donated to Kristi Yamaguchi's Always Dream Foundation, whose goal is to support organizations that have a positive influence on children.
With Yamaguchi and all of the other activities this Friday, it promises to be another exciting and thrilling evening of IN the game football. The fun begins at 4:30 p.m. with the Meadow Gold Dairies Family FANFest. When the turnstiles open at 5:30 p.m. fans can buy draft beer for $1.00 in the arena. In addition, the first 1,000 people through the gates will also get a FREE hot dog and soda (normally costs $5.25 at the Blaisdell).
It's also an official Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours event, which means the Islanders Business Club members will enjoy expanded pre-game hospitality at the Islanders Business Club pavilion including a live radio remote by Tom Moffett and Oldies 107.9 FM compliments of First Insurance and Net Enterprise.
Group tickets are available at discounted prices. Adult general admission tickets are only $10, reserve seats for $15. Youth, 17 years and under, can buy a ticket for $7 anywhere in the arena.
Your first place Hawaiian Islanders are 5-2 on the season. Support your home team by getting together with your friends, co-workers and family for a great way to kick off the Memorial Day weekend.
