Texas Legends News Release

EL SEGUNDO, CA - Chris Douglas-Roberts powered out 38 points to lead the Texas Legends past the Los Angeles D-Fenders Saturday night 137-129.

The Legends grabbed the first lead behind early points from Tu Holloway. The D-Fenders played catch-up but were never able to stretch more than three points ahead. Texas pulled up by 12 going into the second behind 21 first-quarter points from Douglas-Roberts. The Legends had extended their lead to 19 midway through the second, but the D-Fenders responded with an 11-1 run and ultimately cut the deficit to five going into the locker room.

Jabari Brown opened the second half with a running jumper to make it a one-possession game, but the Legends weren't shaken, responding with 10 straight points of their own. The third quarter saw two more 10-point streaks as Los Angeles tied up the game and Texas took their lead back to double-digits. With 2:24 to play, the D-Fenders found themselves back in control, having overcome a 12-point Legends advantage, but one last 10-0 streak would cap off the victory for Texas.

The Legends had seven players with double-digits in the score column including new season-highs from Douglas-Roberts and Andre Dawkins (20). Holloway (25 points, 12 assists) and Micheal Eric (19 points, 15 rebounds) finished with double-doubles and Patrick Miller neared a third with 11 points, 7 rebounds, and 9 assists.

Justin Harper posted a team-high 35 points for the D-Fenders while Josh Magette dished out a franchise-record 22 assists and grabbed 10 points, 6 rebounds.

The Legends will head to Reno to take on the Bighorns Sunday at 9pm CT. Fans can catch all the action live at www.TexLegends.com.
