
D-Fenders Dropped by Legends

EL SEGUNDO - The D-Fenders fell to the Texas Legends 137-129 tonight in El Segundo, CA.
Justin Harper scored a season-high 35 points for the D-Fenders (26-18). Vander Blue (25 points) and Andre Ingram (20 points) also reached the 20-point mark, while Jabari Brown (16 points), Ryan Gomes (15 points) and Josh Magette (10 points, 22 assists) all scored in double-figures for Los Angeles. Magette's 22 assists tonight is a new franchise record, and is tied for the second most in NBADL history.
Chris Douglas-Roberts (38 points) paced the Legends (21-23). Tu Holloway (25 points, 12 assists), Andre Dawkins (20 points), Michael Eric (19 points, 15 rebounds), Josh Childress (13 points), Jamil Wilson (11 points) and Patrick Miller (11 points) all reached double-digits for Texas.
Douglas-Roberts was unstoppable in the first quarter, scoring 21 points to give the Legends a 41-29 lead after one. Los Angeles turned it around in the second quarter, outscoring Texas 34-27 behind 12 points from Harper and 11 from Brown. At the half, the D-Fenders trailed 68-63.
Texas came out hot in the third quarter, outscoring Los Angeles 37-31 behind 12 points from Holloway. Blue and Harper each had 11 for the D-Fenders, who trailed 105-94 heading into the final frame. Ingram scored 14 points in the fourth quarter, while Magette dished out seven assists as Los Angeles outscored Texas 35-32, but it was not enough to complete the comeback.
The D-Fenders shot .506 from the field, compared to .570 for Texas. Texas outrebounded Los Angeles 41-31 in the contest.
Los Angeles heads to Reno on March 23rd to face the Bighorns at 7:00pm PT.
