
IOWA RELEASES OPENING NIGHT ROSTER - Iowa Signs Hoggan and Czarnowczan

DES MOINES, IA - Iowa Wild General Manager Brent Flahr announced on Thursday the team's opening night roster for the 2016-17 American Hockey League (AHL) season. Flahr also announce the team has signed forward Jeff Hoggan and defenseman Scott Czarnowczan (zar-now-zen) to professional tryout agreements (PTO).

Goalies: Alex Stalock and Steve Michalek
Defense: Guillaume Gelinas, Nick Seeler, Hunter Warner, Zach Palmquist, Gustav Olofsson, Scott Czarnowczan, Maxime Fortunus.
Forwards: Tyler Graovac, Sam Anas, Jordan Schroeder, Jeff Hoggan, Pat Cannone, Adam Gilmour, Alex Tuch, Mario Lucia, Zack Mitchell, Nick Saracino, Grayson Downing, Marc Hagel, Colton Beck, Kurtis Gabriel and Christoph Bertschy.
Hoggan, 38 (2/1/78), is a 14-year veteran and two-time Calder Cup Champion who captained the Grand Rapids Griffins over the last four years. Hoggan has played in 690 AHL regular season games and 97 Calder Cup Playoff games over his tenure, winning a Calder Cup with Houston in 2003 and again with Grand Rapids in 2013. The Hope, BC native has 168 goals and 162 assists for 330 career AHL points. The 6-foot-1, 200-pound forward has also played in 107 NHL contests in stints with Arizona, Boston and St. Louis, scoring twice and totaling 11 points.
Czarnowczan, 25 (5/29/91), enters his third pro season after splitting the last two between Grand Rapids and the ECHL's Toledo Walleye. In 2016-17, the defenseman posted 20 assists and 25 points in 38 games with Toledo. He was also scoreless in two games with Grand Rapids. Overall, Czarnowczan has played in 31 AHL games over the last two seasons, posting two goals and ten points, all with the Griffins.
The 2016-17 Iowa Wild regular season schedule opens on Oct. 14 and single-game tickets for the 2016-17 regular season are on sale now. Opening Night 2016 is set for Friday, Oct. 14 at Wells Fargo Arena, when the team opens a seven-game home stand.
Iowa hosts Manitoba at 7 P.M. in the first game of the season. Fans are encouraged to wear red as part of the team's "Red Out", celebrating American Heart Association night with the Wild. The first 5,000 fans through the gate will be handed a 2016-17 Iowa Wild cling schedule, presented by 100.3 The Bus and Hicklin Garage. Fans 21 and over may indulge in $2 Beer Night, present by 100.3 The Bus. The team is also holding a Healthy Food Drive, presented by HyVee, AHA and Ahern Fire and Protection.
Saturday, Oct. 15 the team welcomes Manitoba for a rematch at 7 P.M. Fans are encouraged to show up early and enjoy the team's tailgate party, which begins at 4:30 p.m. and runs until 6:30 p.m. Free hot dogs will be handed out to those at the pregame festivity, presented by NASH FM, 98.3 The Vibe and 95KGGO. The first 2,500 fans to the game will receive an Iowa Wild schedule poster, presented by TS Construction, Loney & Schueller and 1460 KXNO. Fans of drinking age may enjoy Jim Beam Drink specials throughout the night. Saturday night features the Legends BrewDog package, which includes a ticket, beer/hot dog voucher and a coupon for a free beverage at Legends after the game.
The Iowa Wild 2016-17 season is presented by Mercy Medical Center: and runs from October through April. Fans may purchase seats to see any of the team's 38 regular season home games at Wells Fargo Arena. The Wells Fargo Arena box office is open Monday - Friday from 10:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. and closed on Sunday. For Saturday game days, the box office will open at 10 a.m. For Sunday game days the box office will open at 12 p.m. Fans may also purchase tickets by calling 1-844-55-HYVEE or by visiting participating Hy-Vee food stores locations in the greater Des Moines area.
