
Ella Ellis Returns to Maine for Special "Military Appreciation Night"

PORTLAND, Maine - February 4, 2017 - The Maine Red Claws, presented by Unum, announce that tomorrow night's game vs. Delaware will be their annual "Military Appreciation Night" at the Portland Expo.
During the patriotic themed night, the Red Claws will recognize military veterans as well as active military, including special guest Ella Ellis. A forward on the Red Claws last season, Ellis is a graduate of West Point and active military in the Armed Services, and last season became just the second Army grad ever to play in the NBA or NBA Development League.
He left the team mid-season when he was deployed to an undisclosed location in the Middle East. Ellis' deployment ended in December, and he will make his return to the Expo tomorrow night. Ellis, a 1st Lieutenant (Promotable) in the U.S. Army, will be named honorary captain for the night and will be recognized in a special ceremony prior to the opening tip-off.
