
Austin Spurs Win Nail-Biter over Iowa Wolves 89-87

AUSTIN, Texas (Feb. 11, 2018) - The Austin Spurs (24-14), presented by SWBC, defeated the Iowa Wolves in a nail-biter by a final score of 89-87 at the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park on Sunday afternoon.
Player of the Game, Nick Johnson led the Spurs' attack with 23 points, 4 rebounds and 6 assists in 34 minutes. Livio Jean-Charles recorded his fifth double-double of the season with 19 points and 13 rebounds.
The game started off neck-and-neck with two ties and six lead changes in the first quarter. Austin went on a 10-2 run to begin the second quarter. A late 11-2 run by the Wolves tied the game with 1:47 left in the second quarter, but the Spurs were able to build a lead in the last two minutes and went into halftime leading 44-40. Austin won the third quarter 28-20 to take a 10 point lead into the fourth quarter. Iowa began the fourth quarter on a 12-2 run led by Justin Patton with 10 points to tie the game at 74 with 7:59 left. The Spurs answered with a 11-4 run and despite a late 9-2 run by Iowa, Austin pulled out the win.
For the Wolves (18-17), on Assignment Patton led the team with 21 points and 5 rebounds in 29 minutes, while Marquise Moore contributed with 19 points and 10 rebounds in 44 minutes.
