Curve Swept in Sunday Twinbill at Harrisburg

HARRISBURG, Pa. - The Altoona Curve were swept in a double-header at MetroBank Park on Sunday night by the Harrisburg Senators, 3-2 and 4-3. The losses dropped the Curve out of first place in the Western Division for the first time since May 7.

The Curve (42-33) gave up a go-ahead run in the sixth inning of each seven-inning contests. The Senators (35-41) have now won five straight games.

In the first game, Altoona tied the game at 1-1 in the fifth with a solo home run by Dan Gamache, his fifth of the year, and he knocked an RBI single in the sixth to put the Curve ahead 2-1.

Harrisburg rallied back with back-to-back run-scoring doubles by Brian Goodwin and Matt Skole to pull ahead 3-2 against starter Zack Dodson (Loss, 3-5).

After a scoreless sixth inning worked by Sam Runion (Win, 1-0), Sammy Solis (Save, 2) worked a perfect seventh to close the Harrisburg victory.

In the second game of the night, the Curve opened a 3-0 lead on consecutive RBIs by Max Moroff, Stetson Allie and Edward Salcedo in the third. The Senators tied the game with a two-run double by Chris Bostick in the fourth, and plated the go-ahead run on an RBI single by Isaac Ballou in the sixth off of Jeff Inman (Loss, 2-1).

Abel De Los Santos (Win, 3-4) worked two scoreless innings, allowing one hit.

Adam Frazier went 3-for-4 with a double and scored a run. Jacob Stallings had two hits, including a double.

The Curve look to avoid the sweep on Monday night at MetroBank Park at 7 p.m. Altoona's starting pitcher has not yet been announced. Lefty Matthew Spann (1-0, 3.25) will start for Harrisburg.
