
Road Warriors Bolster Blue Line with Coyle and Hegarty

Greenville, SC - Today the Road Warriors announced the team has signed defensemen Jace Coyle and Ryan Hegarty for the 2013-2014 season.
Coyle put up an impressive 28 points in just 37 games with the Idaho Steelheads last season. His eight goals led all defenseman on the team during the regular season. Coyle also tallied six assists, best among defensemen, during the Kelly Cup Playoffs. The Cranbrook, British Columbia native has 58 AHL games under his belt with the Texas Stars, 10 of which were played last season. Prior to his professional career, Coyle, 23, played three years in the WHL with the Medicine Hat Tigers, with two of those years spent playing with Warriors' forward Bretton Cameron.
Hegarty was a 4th round selection, 113th overall, by the Anaheim Ducks in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft. The Arlington, Massachusetts native played his first professional year last season with the Fort Wayne Komets tallying three goals, six assists and 60 penalty minutes in 57 games. Hegarty, 23, played four years of NCCA Division I hockey at the University of Maine from 2008-2012.
"Coyle has excellent stick skills and playmaking ability. He is quick in transition and will be one of the top defensemen in the league," Head Coach Dean Stork said. "Hegarty enters his second professional year so we expect him to be a solid two-way defenseman."
