Attend the Bulls National Anthem Tryouts at PIER 39

San Francisco, Calif. - The San Francisco Bulls Professional Hockey Team, proud affiliate of the San Jose Sharks, will be hosting National Anthem tryouts on Saturday, August 3 from 12-2 pm at Crystal Geyser ALPINE SPRING WATER Stage, presented by PIER 39 and Players Sports Grill & Arcade. The event will be open to the public. Contestants will vie for the chance to sing the National Anthem at a Bulls game during the team's upcoming 2013-14 regular season. Determining the winners will be a panel of guest judges: KGO ABC7 News Anchor Dan Ashley, KSFO Morning Show and KOFY Dance Party Host Katie Green, SF Chronicle's Beth Spotswood and Olympic broadcaster on NBC Sports Joe Castellano.

Contestants will perform 30 seconds of the National Anthem, and a verse and chorus of a song of their choice. Six of the hopefuls will be announced the winners by 2:30 pm of the same day, and earn the right to perform the National Anthem at an SF Bulls game.

Ashley, an Emmy Award winner, has been with ABC7 since 1995. He works now as anchor of ABC7 News at 6 & 11 p.m. and ABC7 News at 9 p.m. on Your TV20, weekdays.

Green is a host on the KSFO Morning Show. She can also be seen on KOFY TV20's "Dance Party, where she is known as DJ Katie.

Spotswood writes for the "Culture Blog" of the San Francisco Chronicle. Her work can also be seen in San Francisco Appeal and VidSF.

Castellano has been broadcasting sports for over 25 years. His credits include Olympic broadcasts for NBC Sports and the College World Series for Westwood One.

Crystal Geyser ALPINE SPRING WATER Stage is located at the Bay end of PIER 39, adjacent to Players Sports Grill & Arcade.
