Cougars to Hold Military Appreciation Night

GENEVA, IL - The Kane County Cougars, in conjunction with Fifth Third Bank, will host a Military Appreciation Night on Saturday, July 6. The 6:30 p.m. game that evening will include a variety of special events to recognize all active duty, veterans, and their families.

"As we take pause to celebrate Independence Day, we wanted to also pause and pay honor to all those who serve and have served our country while defending our freedoms," said Curtis Haug, Kane County Cougars General Manager.

Throughout the evening at Fifth Third Bank Ballpark, special recognition will be made for all those who have served the country. Cougars players along with Quad Cities River Bandits players will help unfold a giant American flag to be held during the National Anthem, and ceremonial first pitches representing each branch of the armed service will be thrown. The evening will conclude with a patriotic-themed fireworks show.

Interested active duty military can enjoy free admission by showing their military ID at the box office when ordering tickets. Among those scheduled to attend include many veteran employees from Fifth Third Bank joined by DeVry Military Resource Club, Honor Flight, Illinois National Guard, and the Heart of a Marine Foundation.
