
Max Kepler Joins Kernels From Extended Spring Training

Cedar Rapids, IA - The Cedar Rapids Kernels and Minnesota Twins announce that OF Max Kepler will join the Kernels from Extended Spring Training. Brad Steil, Director of Minor League Operations for the Twins, announced the move.
The Twins signed Kepler as a non-drafted free agent on July 11, 2009 out of Ft. Myers South (FL) HS and he spent 2012 with Elizabethton where he hit .297 with 10 HR and 49 RBI in 59 games. He was named the Appalachian League/Topps Minor League Baseball Player of the year and was tabbed as the Twins #8 Top Prospect by Baseball America prior to the 2013 season.
With today's transaction, the Kernels roster is at the MWL maximum of 25 active players, with two players currently on the disabled list.
