NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark - Matt Fields had his second two home run game in 10 days as the Northwest Arkansas Naturals closed out the first half of the 2013 season with a 5-2 win over the Arkansas Travelers on Monday night.

Fields got the Naturals on the board with his 17th home run of the season in the second inning, giving the Naturals a 1-0 lead. Brett Eibner hit his seventh home run in the fifth inning to give the Naturals a 2-0 lead.

The Travelers cut the lead to one with a C.J. Cron sacrifice fly that scored Randal Grichuk in the fifth inning.

Fields and Manny Piña combined to score the Naturals' third run of the game. With one out in the sixth inning, Piña attempted to steal second base and was thrown out. While the Travelers were working to throw out Piña, Fields ran home from third base to score a run.

Travis Witherspoon homered in the sixth to bring the Travelers back to a one-run deficit. The Travs loaded the bases in the seventh inning but a double play got the Naturals out of the inning unscathed.

Fields added a pair of insurance runs with his second home run of the game in the eighth. After Orlando Calixte reached on a leadoff single, Fields went deep to left field for his 18th home run of the year. Fields is now tied with George Springer of Corpus Christi for the Texas League lead in home runs.

Jason Adam earned his second win of the season, allowing two runs on eight hits with one walk and six strikeouts in six innings and a season-high 114 pitches. Adam worked his way out of a bases-loaded jam in the first inning and stranded five runners in scoring position during his six innings of work. Scott Alexander picked up his first Double-A save. Alexander allowed one hit and three walks with two strikeouts in three innings.

Michael Roth falls to 1-2 after allowing three runs, two earned, on seven hits with one walk and two strikeouts in six innings.

The Naturals begin the second half tomorrow night by sending Sugar Ray Marimon (3-8, 5.27 ERA) to the mound. He is scheduled to be opposed by Manny Correa (3-6, 4.84 ERA).
