
Angel Cuan Named FSL Pitcher of the Week

The Florida State League announced on Tuesday that St. Lucie Mets lefthander Angel Cuan has been named the league's Pitcher of the Week for the period of May 20-May 26.
Cuan pitched seven scoreless innings and allowed just two hits while striking out nine in a 1-0 victory over Bradenton on May 25.
Cuan has tossed 14 consecutive scoreless innings while allowing just five hits and striking out 15 over his last two starts.
Cuan, a 5-11, 150-pound lefthander from Chirqui, Panama, has a 5-1 record with a 3.69 ERA in eight appearances and six starts this season. He has recorded 33 strikeouts while walking just five in 39 innings.
The Mets signed Cuan in 2007 as a non-drafted free agent. Cuan finished 6-10 with a 4.01 ERA in 23 appearances in 2012 with St. Lucie.
