Jupiter Hammerheads News Release
JUPITER, Fla. - Roger Dean Stadium has partnered with the Palm Beach County Health Department, Students Working Against Tobacco and Quitline to host four Education Days events during the 2013 season: May 6, May 16, May 23 and May 30.
Education Days provide students with an exciting educational experience by offering teachers the opportunity to educate their students on the fundamentals of mathematics, science, language arts and social studies, while also teaching them the importance of saying "NO" to tobacco. Education Days focus on fun and educational activities while students take in a 10:35 a.m. Palm Beach Cardinals or Jupiter Hammerheads home game at Roger Dean Stadium. Students who attend Education Days may participate in Roger Dean Stadium's essay contest. Our staff will select the best essays and present the students who wrote them with a prize and on-field recognition. Students may also be selected to participate in a pre-game press conference, in which they may ask a player from the Palm Beach Cardinals or Jupiter Hammerheads a question. "These events are made possible by the support of sponsors such as Janiece Davis and the Palm Beach County Health Department," said Mike Bauer, General Manager of Jupiter Stadium, LTD.
The 2012-2013 academic year marks the tenth season that the Jupiter Hammerheads and Palm Beach Cardinals will be hosting Education Day at Roger Dean Stadium. Since its inception in 2003, more than 80,000 students have participated in this unique educational experience. For each of these days, participating students will receive a ticket to the game and lunch-which includes a hot dog, chips and bottled water-for only $6.00. All teachers will be admitted to the game free of charge and are given the opportunity to purchase a lunch voucher for only $3.00. To register for one of the Education Days, contact Amanda Fandrey at (561) 630-1847 or a.fandrey@rogerdeanstadium.com.
