SUGAR LAND, TX - The Sugar Land Skeeters announced today that Skeeters outfielder Dustin Martin has signed with the Arizona Diamondbacks organization. The announcement was made by Skeeters Manager Gary Gaetti and Director of Operations Michael Kirk.

Martin, 29, played 30 games with Sugar Land in 2013, hitting .245 (27x110) with four triples, four homers and 16 RBI on the season. His 11 stolen bases ranked second on the club behind fellow outfielder Adam Godwin (15).

The Corpus Christi, Texas native spent last season with Triple A Buffalo and Double A Binghamton of the New York Mets organization. He hit for a .257 (19x74) average over 28 games with Buffalo, while maintaining a .286 (69x241) average with 41 RBI in 72 games with Binghamton. Originally selected by the Mets in the 26th round of the June 2006 Draft out of Sam Houston State University, Martin owns a career .275 (844x3067) average with 432 RBI in 854 minor league games.

Martin is the second member of Sugar Land's 2013 club and 12th overall to be signed by a Major League organization. Last season, Sugar Land witnessed 10 players move from its roster to an affiliated Major League club. Martin's signing also marks the 15th overall Skeeters player to move from the Atlantic League to another professional baseball league since Opening Day 2012.

Limited eight-game and full-season ticket plans are still available, so fans are encouraged to act now and be a part of the 2013 season excitement.
