Lancaster Barnstormers right-hander Will Savage tossed a seven-inning complete game two-hitter, pitching the Barnstormers to victory in the first "War of the Roses" battle of the 2013 season against the York Revolution on Saturday evening at Clipper Magazine Stadium.

Savage (3-1) allowed only a solo homer to Eric Patterson in the third inning, and a single to Brian Burgamy in the top of the seventh.

Daryle Ward opened the scoring with a solo home run to right in the bottom of the second, before Patterson did the same a half inning later tying the score at 1-1. Patterson's home run was his first of the season, and the 17th by a Revolution batter, as nine different players have now gone deep for the Revs on the young season.

Lancaster came back, however, with three runs in their half of the third. It began with a leadoff walk to the ninth hitter, Charlie Neil, followed by a Jerry Owens single to set the table. Blake Gailen then came through with an RBI single to left after failing to drop down an attempted sacrifice bunt, and Travis Denker added an RBI groundout to help Lancaster's cause. Olmo Rosario would cap the rally later in the inning with an RBI double to left.

Lancaster took advantage of another leadoff walk the next inning as Kody Kirkland drew the free pass, moved to second on a sacrifice bunt, and stole third on a disputed call. Owens then ripped an RBI triple over the first base bag and into the right field corner, extending Lancaster's lead to 5-1.

Revs starter Corey Thurman (1-4) suffered the loss, going all six innings in defeat. He falls to 6-1 lifetime at Clipper Magazine Stadium, and absorbs his first road loss in 23 starts, snapping a 14-game winning streak on the road. He hadn't lost a road game since August 11, 2010 at Somerset.
