Toledo Mud Hens News Release

The Hens rallied from three down in the eighth to send the game to extras, but a late run for the Tides in the eleventh made the difference in a 6-5 loss for Toledo on Monday night.

Shawn Hill struggled from the start and allowed five runs on seven hits as the Tides jumped out to an early 4-0 lead.

The Mud Hens cut the lead in half in the sixth after a Jordan Lennerton single scored two to make it 4-2. The two-point deficit was short-lived, however, after Russ Canzler extended the lead with a solo home run in the bottom of the inning.

The Hens roared back in the eighth inning with a three run rally to tie the game at 5-5. Lennerton singled in his third run to start the rally, and Danny Dorn and Argenis Diaz both followed suit with RBIs to even the score.

The score remained even until the eleventh when Chris Robinson singled in a run off Jess Todd to secure the victory for Norfolk.

The Hens will look to avoid the sweep in Norfolk tomorrow at 12:05 p.m. Derek Hankins is scheduled to make his first career start for Toledo.
