Blades Entertain Hitmen in Big Conference Battle
Published on March 4, 2013 under Western Hockey League (WHL)
Saskatoon Blades News Release
The Saskatoon Blades impressive winning streak is over, but it's time to start a new one as the Blades entertain the Calgary Hitmen tomorrow night.
The Blades consecutive win streak was snapped last night in Moose Jaw as the Warriors dumped the Blades 5-4 in overtime. The franchise-record win streak was just a few games short of tying the WHL record of 22 consecutive wins in one season, set by the Estevan Bruins in the late 1960's.
Saskatoon now turns their attention to the Hitmen, a team they've already defeated 3 times this season, outscoring them by a count of 13-2 in those games. The Blades are one point ahead of Calgary in the standings entering the game, with the matchup meaning big things for potential playoff seedings.
It's sure to be a fantastic game between two clubs playing some solid hockey. Tickets are moving fast, but there is still time to get your hands on some.
