Purple Game and Star Wars Night Headline Next Week's Slate

Friday, March 8, 2013 vs. Hamilton Bulldogs

Presented by Van Andel Institute

Time : 7 p.m. at Van Andel Arena (doors open at 6 p.m.)

Purple Community Game : Nearly everything at Van Andel Arena will be in sync with the color associated with cancer survivors, as the Griffins host their second annual "Purple Community Game" to benefit the Van Andel Institute. The Griffins will wear special purple jerseys that will be, autographed and auctioned to the public in the Fifth Third Bank Vault restaurant after the game, with proceeds benefiting VAI. Additionally, fans can enjoy many other purple elements, ranging from purple concession items to purple-themed songs and graphics during the game.

Purple T-Shirt Giveaway : 10,000 fans will receive a purple t-shirt, courtesy of Van Andel Institute.

Dollar Beers and Hot Dogs : Enjoy $1 hot dogs and $1 domestic drafts from 6-8 p.m., while supplies last.

College Night : Presented by H&R Block, college students can show their ID to purchase an upper bowl ticket for $13 (or $11 in advance at The Zone) and stop by the McFadden's concourse table to receive a free pass to the post-game party at McFadden's.

Star Wars Night : The 501st Legion returns for another Star Wars Night, with proceeds benefiting the Griffins Youth Foundation. Over 55 costumed characters will be roaming the arena and interacting with fans. In addition to light sabers and Griffins Star Wars-themed pucks and t-shirts being sold on the concourse, a photo area will be set up on the concourse for fans to get their picture taken with their favorite characters for a small donation.

Post-Game Open Skate : Bring your skates to the rink and take to the ice after the game, presented by J&H Family Stores.

Tickets for all 2012-13 Grand Rapids Griffins home games may be purchased:

Advance ticket prices are $14, $16 and $18 in the arena's upper level, and $18, $22, $26 and $32 in the lower level. (Additional $2 per ticket on day of game.) On game night, tickets may be purchased without a convenience charge at the Van Andel Arena box office, beginning 90 minutes before game time. Fans who attend multiple games can avoid charges and receive a discount from the single-game price by purchasing a 10- or 20-game partial season package.

Season-Long Offers

Military Nights : Every home game this season, current members of our military can purchase up to four upper bowl tickets for $13 each (or $11 in advance at The Zone) with a valid military ID. The offer also extends to veterans who present a VA ID or discharge papers.

The Vault Restaurant and Bar : Enjoy food and drink specials in the Fifth Third Bank Vault prior to every Griffins home game.
