Janesville Jets Brock Kautz and Zach Diamantoni Named NAHL Honorable Mention Stars of the Week

The North American Hockey League (NAHL) announced the Divisional Stars of the Week ending February 24, 2013.

Janesville Jets Goaltender Brock Kautz and forward Zach Diamantoni were named Honorable Mention players in the North Division.

Kautz (6'1", 180 lbs., Rochester, MN) continued his excellent goaltending from the NAHL Top Prospects Tournament into Saturday night's game against the Port Huron Fighting Falcons.

In the Top Prospects Tournament, Kautz split the first game on Monday, February 18, with the other Midwest team goalie and stopped all 25 shots he faced. He also was outstanding in the overtime shootout, leading the team to a 4 - 3 victory against the NAHL U18 Selects. After a day off, Kautz played the whole game on Wednesday, February 20, saving 27 out of 29 shots he faced. For the tourney, Kautz finished with a very impressive .963 save percentage.

Back in Janesville on Saturday night February 23, Kautz was named the number one star in the Jets 5 - 2 win over the Fighting Falcons. He stopped 36 out of 38 shots, including holding Port Huron scoreless on 16 shots in the decisive second period.

For the season, Kautz is tied for seventh in the NAHL with a save percentage of .923. His goals against average of 2.49 is 15th best in the league.

Jets forward Zach Diamantoni (5'9", 170 lbs., Brighton, MI) was also excellent versus the Port Huron Fighting Falcons this past weekend. In Friday night's 7 - 1 Jets loss, he assisted on the Jets only goal. In Saturday's 5 - 2 victory, Diamantoni scored two goals goals and notched an assist for three total points, being named the number two star of the game.

In 42 games played for the Jets this season, Diamantoni is third best with 25 total points (7 goals, 18 assists).
