Mississauga, ON - The Steelheads struggles on home ice continue. Mississauga faltered late and allowed the Greyhounds to escape with the victory.

On a Greyhounds cycle in the offensive zone, Michael Schumacher skated off the half-boards and beat Spencer Martin over his shoulder to open the scoring. Lucas Venuto responded minutes later, shooting the puck from the corner off a Greyhounds' defenders skate and past Michael Murray to equalize. Kristoff Kontos converted a rebound opportunity to give the Steelheads the lead at 17:18 of the first period on a man-advantage situation.

Toronto Maple Leafs prospect David Broll sprung Colin Miller on a four on four situation midway through the second period, who beat Martin on his blocker side to restore balance in the game. Mississauga outshot Sault Ste. Marie 13 - 6 in the frame.

A Steelheads team that was 2-3-0-3 when entering the third period tied turned to their top power play unit to lead the team. Kontos redirected a Dylan DeMelo pass for his 16th goal of the season and second of the game on the man-advantage only 2:25 into the final frame. Unfortunately, it was all for nothing as the game unraveled in the final 12 minutes. Ryan Kirkup redirected an Andrew Fritsch feed for his first career OHL goal at 8:59. Fritsch's 24th goal of the year in the final minutes allowed the Greyhounds to escape with the win in regulation.

The Steelheads host the Central division leading Barrie Colts on Friday at 7:30 p.m. Great seats are still available by calling (905) 502 - 7788, visiting the Hershey Centre Box Office, or logging on to Ticketmaster.
