Lee Returns to AHL Portland

Rookie goaltender Mike Lee has been re-assigned from the Gwinnett Gladiators to the Portland Pirates of the American Hockey League by the Phoenix Coyotes of the National Hockey League.

Lee picked up his third AHL win February 1st as he helped lead the Pirates to a 3-2 victory over the Worcester Sharks. Lee made 36 saves in the shootout win. He owns a .960 save percentage and a 1.31 GAA in three AHL games.

The Roseau, Minnesota native currently ranks third among all ECHL netminders with a 2.23 goals against average and a .918 save percentage in 27 games with Gwinnett. He has notched a 14-11-1-0 record with Gwinnett and has earned two shutouts this season.

The rookie has been twice named the ECHL Goaltender of the Week this season. He earned the honor for the week of October 22nd through the 28th and again for the week of November 5th through the 11th.

Lee was drafted by the Phoenix Coyotes in the 3rd round of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft with the 91st overall pick.

The Gladiators are the ECHL Affiliate of the Phoenix Coyotes of the National Hockey League and are members of the ECHL, the Premier "AA" Hockey League and play all home games at the 11,355-seat Arena at Gwinnett Center, located just off I-85 on Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth.
