San Francisco Bulls News Release

BOISE, Idaho - Rob Kwiet's two third-period goals propelled the San Francisco Bulls (19-25-1-6) to a 6-3 come-from-behind victory against the Idaho Steelheads (32-14-1-4), Wednesday night at CenturyLink Arena. Peter Sivak also scored twice for San Francisco, and Thomas Heemskerk made 41 saves in the victory for the Bulls. The Bulls scored five straight goals, including four in the third period to help them the Bulls climb into a seventh-place tie in the Western Conference with the Utah Grizzlies.

The game started off with a bang when Dylan King dropped the gloves with Mike Towns only 20 seconds into the game. Idaho got on the board first at 8:50 of the first period. A failed clearing attempt by San Francisco ended up on Tyler Gron's stick, who buried the puck past Heemskerk for his 10th goal of the season. The Steelheads doubled their lead when David de Kastrozza scored his 15th goal of the season. Matt Case made a nice move around his defender and fed de Kastrozza for the goal. Ian Watters also picked up an assist on the goal scored with 4:24 left in the period. Alex Tuckerman had a response for the Bulls 59 seconds later. Tuckerman failed to give up on the play, and persistently fought in front of the net until the puck had crossed the goal line. Jordan Clendenning and Cody Carlson picked up the assists on Tuckerman's fifth goal of the season.

De Kastrozza scored his second goal of the night on the power play with Christian Ouellet in the box for slashing. De Kastrozza tipped the initial shot by Jace Coyle past Heemskerk for his 16th goal of the season. Case also picked up an assist on the goal scored at 8:29. Sivak scored his 25th goal of the season to bring the Bulls within one with 8:35 left in the period. The puck found its way to Sivak, who made no mistake. Dean Ouellet picked up the lone assist.

The third period was all Bulls. They took advantage of a two-man advantage that carried over into the third period. Kwiet made the Steelheads pay with a backhand shot that beat Josh Robinson. The power-play goal was assisted by Dean and Christian Ouellet at 1:05 of the third period. Then Kwiet scored his second goal of the period with a slap-shot that was too hot for Robinson to handle. Kwiet's 10th goal of the season was assisted by captain Scott Langdon and C. Ouellet at 6:26. Kris Belan scored his eighth goal of the season to extend the lead to 5-3. Belan broke away from the pack, and fired the puck through the five-hole of Robinson. Belan's eighth goal of the season was scored with 3:18 remaining in the third period. Sivak capped the impressive four-goal period with an empty net tally for his 26th goal of the season.

The Bulls finish up their road-trip on Saturday in Stockton at 7:30 pm. The Bulls return home the next day to take on the Thunder at 2:15 pm. Sunday will be Pucks and Paws day at the Cow Palace. Bring your dog to the game, and the first 500 fans will receive a pet bowl. You MUST call the Bulls office at 855-SF-BULLS ahead of time to bring your dog to the game.
