Simpson Reassigned to Rockford

(Toledo, OH) - Goaltender Kent Simpson has been reassigned by the NHL's Chicago Blackhawks to the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League.

Simpson has been rolling for Toledo as of late winning seven of his past ten starts. The native of Edmonton, Alberta is 14-10-0-3 this year with the Walleye, posting a 2.42 goals against average, which is seventh in the ECHL, and a .906 save percentage. The 20 year old goaltender was the ECHL goaltender of the Week from January 28 through February 3, 2013 when he went 3-0-0-0 with a .67 GAA and a .975SVP.

The Rockford IceHogs host Abbotsford on Saturday night followed by Lake Erie on Sunday.

Toledo Walleye return home for Hockey Heritage Weekend in Toledo on Saturday, February 16 and Sunday, February 17.
