Penguins Invite 26 Players to Training Camp

The Pittsburgh Penguins have invited 26 players (15 forwards; 9 defensemen; 2 goaltenders) to training camp, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Ray Shero.
The camp roster includes six players - forwards Beau Bennett, Jayson Megna and Eric Tangradi, and defensemen Robert Bortuzzo, Simon Despres and Brian Strait - who have been playing for the Penguins' top minor-league affiliate, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Training camp opens on Sunday afternoon with a 3:10 p.m. practice at the team's Southpointe training facility that will be open to the public, free of charge.
On Monday, camp will shift to CONSOL Energy Center for the remainder of the week. Practices on Monday (12 noon), Tuesday (11 a.m.) and Friday (11 a.m.) will be open to the public free of charge. Doors at the Trib Total Media gate will open 30 minutes before the start of each practice.
On Wednesday at 7 p.m., the Penguins will hold a "Black and Gold" scrimmage at CONSOL Energy Center that also is open to the public free of charge. Doors at the Trib Total Media gate will open at 6 p.m. on Wednesday.
The team will not practice on Thursday.
