The Road Warriors had four games this past week, three of which on the EquilifeMD Rink at the BI-LO Center. The Road Warriors began the set of games on Tuesday at North Charleston Coliseum versus the South Carolina Stingrays. The game was dominated by Greenville as they won 6-0. Goaltender Nathan Lieuwen recorded his first professional shutout and assist and Mike Marcou record his first professional three point game.

Greenville returned home on Thursday to face the Gwinnett Gladiators. The EquilifeMD Rink had a new look as it was painted green for the holidays. Greenville buckled down on defense and held the South Division leaders to just one goal which was scored with 36 seconds remaining in the game. The Road Warriors came out victorious 3-1.

South Carolina returned to the EquilifeMD Rink at the BI-LO Center on Friday and staged a comeback in the third period. The Stingrays scored three goals to tie the game at four, forcing a shootout. Greenville would win the shootout in seven rounds and Jason Missiaen would record his first ECHL victory of the season.

The weekend concluded on Sunday afternoon with the Road Warriors knocking off the Gwinnett Gladiators for the second time in as many games. Missiaen recorded the win and Marc-Olivier Vallerand recorded the game winning goal while shorthanded. Vallerand scored his league leading third shorthanded goal of the year.

Week Ahead

The Road Warriors will have another four game week before the Christmas break. Greenville faces teams they have not played yet this season. The week starts on the road against the Wheeling Nailers on Tuesday at 7 p.m. Wednesday will be a quick turnaround as the Road Warriors have an 11 a.m. game against the Nailers to end the trip.

The Road Warriors return to the EquilifeMD Rink at the BI-LO Center this weekend for Go "Green" Ville Weekend as they highlight environmental awareness with Scene on Seven. The Road Warriors host the Toledo Walleye on Friday and Saturday night at 7 p.m. Friday's Hockey Happy Hour presented by Chiefs Wings & Firewater, Rock 101 and ABC Party Rentals begins at 5 p.m. with FREE FOOD, DISCOUNTED DRINKS AND ENTERTAINMENT FOR THE ENTIRE FAMILY. Streaks and Stats

-Nathan Lieuwen ranks 3rd among goaltenders with 506 saves.

-Brandon Wong is tied for 3rd in the ECHL with three insurance goals.

-Francis Verreault is tied for 11th in rookie scoring with 18 points.

-Steven Delisle and Mike Marcou lead the ECHL with a +19 rating.

-Bretton Cameron leads the team with 71 penalty minutes.

Transactions

The Road Warriors traded Scott Pitt to Las Vegas in exchange for Bretton Stamler and the rights to Chris Collins.

Defensman Deron Cousens was released and placed on waivers on Saturday.
