The Saginaw Spirit battled the Plymouth Whalers on Friday night at The Compuware Arena. These two teams have shared the ice twice so far this season, splitting wins one to one.

The second period saw only one goal, on the power play Ryan Hartman sent a bouncing puck past Spirit goalie Jake Paterson. Tom Wilson and Gianluca Curcuruto recorded assists on Hartman's rebounded goal. After forty minutes of play Plymouth kept the lead 2-1.

Spirit center Justin Kea tied the game at two with 1:57 left in the third period. His second goal of the game was assisted by Garret Ross and Dalton Young. After regulation ended in a 2-2 tie the game was sent to overtime.
