Milwaukee Rallies to Oust Wolves

November 30, 2012 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Chicago Wolves News Release

MILWAUKEE, WI---Goaltending took center stage when the Chicago Wolves met the Milwaukee Admirals Friday night, but the Admirals rallied for two goals in the last 1:25 to send the Wolves to a 3-2 Amtrak Rivalry defeat at the Bradley Center.

Forwards Bill Sweatt and Darren Archibald scored goals for the Wolves (8-8-2-1), who dropped their fourth consecutive game. Anton Rodin assisted on both markers.

The visitors struck first as left wing Sweatt rifled a pass from center Jordan Schroeder past Admirals netminder Jeremy Smith at 2:22 in the first period. That was the first game-opening score by the Wolves on the road since Nov. 2 at Rockford.

Milwaukee defenseman Victor Bartley responded for the home team, knocking his first score of the season through Wolves goaltender Matt Climie at 15:17.

After allowing a goal apiece, both netminders stood up to their respective barrage of shots to hold the game scoreless for nearly the next 36 minutes.

On a Wolves power play, left wing Archibald broke the stalemate by knocking a rebound past Smith for his first score of the season and putting Chicago up 2-1 at 15:30 in the third period. Defenseman Kevin Connauton's shot from the point set up the go-ahead goal.

A quick two-goal response by the Admirals, first from left wing Gabriel Bourque at 18:35 with an extra attacker on the ice and then center Chris Mueller at 19:40, sealed the victory for Milwaukee.

Climie (1-6-0) stopped 30 of 33 shots. Smith (6-9-1) posted 19 saves for the Admirals (8-8-1-1).

The Wolves host another Midwest Division rival, the Peoria Rivermen, at 7 p.m. Saturday in a Illinois Lottery Cup game at Allstate Arena. For tickets, call1-800-THE-WOLVES or visit ChicagoWolves.com.
