
Stingrays Weekly: Stingrays Go Green this Weekend against Reading and Gwinnett

South Carolina Stingrays News Release
The South Carolina Stingrays visited the Reading Royals and Elmira Jackals this week for a week record of 1-1-0-1.
The Stingrays and Royals met for the first time this season Wednesday evening at the Sovereign Center with the Royals prevailing in the shootout, 5-4. The Stingrays erased a 3-0 deficit with goals from former Royal Chris Langkow, forwards Shawn Weller and Hunter Bishop and tied the game with a marker from defenseman Tommy Cross .
On Friday, forward Andrew Rowe scored the only goal of the game to give the Jackals a 1-0 victory over the Stingrays. The Rays responded with a 5-1 victory on Saturday to wrap up the season series. Forwards Tyler McNeely (two goals, two assists), Daniel Koger (two goals) and Hunter Bishop (two assists) combined for eight points and goaltender Ryan Zapolski made 39 saves in the win.

Taking the Lead
The Stingrays are fifth in the South Division with 18 points and 10th overall in the Eastern Conference.
Defenseman Tommy Cross is second among rookies and league defensemen with 17 points (six goals, 11 assists). His 11 assists are tied for first among first-year players and tied for third among blueliners and his six goals are second among league defensemen.
Forward Matthew Pistilli is third in the ECHL with 70 shots.
Goaltender Ryan Zapolski is second in the ECHL with a 1.72 goals-against average and first with a .936 save percentage.
