D.C. United, Branko Boskovic Mutually Agree to Part Ways

Washington, D.C. (November 21, 2012) - D.C. United and midfielder Branko Boskovic today announced that the two have mutually agreed to terminate his contract. Boskovic was an integral part of D.C. United's 2012 run to the Eastern Conference Final, starting all four playoff games.

"I have had some private family matters for several months now," said Boskovic. "It's a difficult decision for me after a very good season here. I think that we will get better and better, but now I must leave. I wish all the best to this team and this club. This city is going to be my heart in the future."

"It's important that Branko return to Europe to be with his family at this time and thus we are mutually terminating his contract," said D.C. United General Manager Dave Kasper. "We thank Branko for all of his efforts with United, including some wonderful performances this year that helped us achieve post-season play. We wish Branko all the best in his future endeavors."

Boskovic was originally signed on June 14, 2010 as a designated player, joining D.C. United from Rapid Vienna, one of the most successful sides in the Austrian Bundesliga. The Montenegrin midfielder made 43 appearances (21 games started) with D.C. United over the course of three seasons, scoring two goals and assisting on seven.
