Jordan DePape Suffers Season Ending Injury

20-year-old forward Jordan DePape has ended his WHL career after suffering a shoulder injury that will require surgery. DePape missed most of last season after undergoing surgery on his left shoulder. This time, he will require surgery for his right shoulder.

Here is a message from Jordan to the fans of the Kamloops Blazers:

"As I began my travels home yesterday from Kamloops to Winnipeg, all I could think about was the fact at 20 years old I had to make a decision to walk away from the one thing I've loved and worked for my whole life. I thought to myself how I'd ever get through this. When I arrived home this morning and looked at the Kamloops Blazer Facebook page, I was absolutely shocked. I cannot believe the support I've received from you fans and all these amazing messages. I then realized how I will end up getting through this, thanks to you. If I've learned anything from this Blazer organization I can tell you one thing that fans, media and even players don't see at the current time. I've learned that this organization doesn't just develop us as hockey player's but they develop us as people. They help us become men so one day when we do make our way to the next chapter in life, we are ready. As I move forward I thank the Blazers for making me a better athlete but more importantly a better person. After all, hockey is just a game, but that game is where I've found my happiness the past 20 years of my life. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you Blazer fans for being there for me through the thick and thin, and I will never forget you. As Tom Gaglardi and Mark Recchi told me, once a Blazer, always a Blazer."

Colin Smith Denny's WHL Player of the Week

Blazers' forward Colin Smith has been named the Denny's WHL Player of the week for the second time this season. Smith collected seven points in two games this past week including five points in a 6-4 win over the Portland Winterhawks Friday night.

Smith and Lipon Competed for Team WHL

Colin Smith and JC Lipon each were a part of Team WHL which competed against Team Russia in the annual Subway Super Series. The WHL's top two scorers played well in the 5-2 loss with Smith picking up an assist on a goal by Swift Current Broncos forward Adam Lowry.
