The Whale then turned around and beat Worcester by the same score Saturday night in Worcester, erasing a 1-0 deficit with third-period goals 1:17 apart by Chris Kreider and Ryan Bourque. Cam Talbot had another strong weekend in the Whale net, stopping 54 out of 57 total shots, and sports a 93.1% save percentage in nine games on the year.

This week:

The Whale work off their Thanksgiving turkey with three games this weekend. First, the club travels to Bridgeport on Friday night for a 7:00 PM battle with the Sound Tigers. Then, it's a doubleheader of hockey action at the XL Center on Saturday. Before the Whale host the defending Calder Cup-champion Norfolk Admirals at 7:00, the UConn Men's Huskies skate against Air Force in an NCAA Division I skirmish, which faces off at 3:30. One ticket gets fans into both of the doubleheader games. The Whale then complete the weekend with a 3:00 trip to Springfield on Sunday.

Friday, November 23 at Bridgeport Sound Tigers (Webster Bank Arena), 7:00 p.m.

- The Whale have built early two-goal leads in both of their previous matchups with the Sound Tigers, but have ended up on the losing end of both games, including a 4-3 defeat last Sunday in Bridgeport.

- Bridgeport forwards Brock Nelson (2-2-4) and Nino Niederreiter (1-3-4), and defenseman Travis Hamonic (1-3-4) all have four points apiece in the two games between the Whale and Sound Tigers thus far.

- Niederreiter leads the Sound Tigers in scoring with 9-8-17 in 14 games, good for tie for third in the league in points.

- The Sound Tigers (10-4-0-0, 20 pts.) have won five of their last six games, and sit only two points behind division-leading Springfield in the Northeast.

Saturday, November 24 vs. the Norfolk Admirals at the XL Center, 7:00 p.m.

- This is "UConn Hockey Day", with a doubleheader of hockey excitement at the XL Center. Prior to Whale vs. Admirals at 7:00, the UConn Men's Hockey Huskies will take on Air Force in an NCAA Division I hockey battle. That game faces off at 3:30, and one ticket is good for both the college game and the Whale game. The XL Center will serve as UConn's home ice for Hockey East contests when the Men's Huskies join the nation's most prestigious conference in 2014-15.

- This is the third meeting of the year between the Whale and Admirals, the reigning Calder Cup champs, and Norfolk's first trip to the XL Center. Norfolk won a pair of contests between the two clubs earlier in the season in Norfolk, 5-4 in overtime on October 19 and 6-3 October 20.

- After winning six of their first eight games under their new affiliation with the Anaheim Ducks, the Admirals have now dropped five out of six. Head Coach Trent Yawney's club is 7-7-0-0 for 14 points and in fourth place in the East Division.

- Peter Holland (7-7-14) leads Norfolk in goals and is tied with Kyle Palmieri (6-8-14) for the team lead in points.

- Radio - live with Bob Crawford and Mark Bailey on "The Rock" 106.9 WCCC-FM. All Whale Saturday night games this year will be beamed on The Rock 106.9 WCCC's 50,000 watts of power. Also available on-line at www.ctwhale.com.

Sunday, November 25 at Springfield Falcons (MassMutual Center), 3:00 p.m.

- This is the Whale's second visit of the season to Springfield, and the third overall meeting on the year between the Whale and Falcons. The first two encounters were a home-and-home series, and the Falcons captured both ends, 10-2 in Hartford November 4 and 2-0 November 9 in Springfield.

- The Falcons lead the Northeast Division with 22 points (10-2-0-2), and their .786 points percentage is tied with Syracuse for tops in the AHL.

- Former Whale Tim Erixon had three goals and six points against his old team in the Falcons' two wins over Connecticut, and fellow ex-Whale Jonathan Audy-Marchessault (5-10-15 in 14 GP) continues to lead Springfield in scoring.

- The Falcons' team goals-against average of 1.64 is the best in the AHL.

- Radio - live with Bob Crawford on "Beethoven Radio" AM 1290, and on-line at www.ctwhale.com.
