Teddy Bears and Zooperstars Highlight This Weekend's Slate

Friday, Nov. 23, 2012 vs. Chicago Wolves

Time : 7 p.m. at Van Andel Arena (doors open at 6 p.m.).

Annual Teddy Bear Toss : Fans are asked to bring a new store-tagged teddy bear or stuffed animal to throw on the ice when the Griffins score their first goal. All stuffed animals collected will be donated to Hug-A-Bears of Kent County. Hug-A-Bears serves the community to donate teddy bears to children and families in crisis. Approximately 3,500 bears have been given to those in need, serving local schools and organizations such as the Kent County Adoption Court and Spectrum Health's Bereavement Center, Camp Compass, Burn Camp and outpatient surgical centers.

Dollar Beers and Hot Dogs : Enjoy $1 hot dogs and $1 domestic drafts from 6-8 p.m., while supplies last.

Free Ride Friday : Ride the Rapid to and from any Friday game and enjoy complimentary fare by showing your ticket to the game. Visit ridetherapid.org for schedule information, routes and maps.

College Night : College students can show their ID to purchase an upper bowl ticket for $13 (or $11 in advance at The Zone) and stop by the McFadden's concourse table to receive a free pass to the post-game party at McFadden's.

Movember : Throughout November, Griffins players and staff are sporting moustaches in support of Movember, a month-long moustache-growing initiative to help raise vital awareness and funds for men's health, specifically prostate cancer and other cancers that affect men. Poster and Puzzle Giveaway : The first 2,500 fans will receive a Griffins poster and puzzle combo.

ZOOperstars : Returning to Van Andel Arena for the third straight season, the inflatable mascots known as the ZOOperstars will entertain fans in the stands throughout the game and on the ice during both intermissions.

Baby Derby : Presented by Milestones Child Development Center, several competitive babies ages 10 to 12 months will race in the Griffins' second annual Baby Derby. The race will take place on the ice during the second intermission on a five-lane mat, and the winner will receive a baby gift basket, one free month of childcare at Milestones Child Development Center and a Griffins hospitality area. Sunday is Fun Day! : Every Sunday, fans can enjoy $1 Pepsi drinks and $1 ice cream from 3-5 p.m.

Library Nights : Fans can present their Grand Rapids Public Library card or Kent District Library card at the Van Andel Arena box office on the night of the game or at The Zone anytime during the store's regular business hours to save $7 off the price of a Lower Level Faceoff ticket (regularly $18 in advance and $20 day of game). Limit four tickets per card per person, subject to availability.

Post-Game Open Skate : Bring your skates to the rink and take to the ice after the game for the post-game open skate, presented by J&H Family Stores.

Advance ticket prices are $14, $16 and $18 in the arena's upper level, and $18, $22, $26 and $32 in the lower level. (Additional $2 per ticket on day of game.) On game night, tickets may be purchased without a convenience charge at the Van Andel Arena box office, beginning 90 minutes before game time. Fans who attend multiple games can avoid charges and receive a discount from the single-game price by purchasing a 10- or 20-game partial season package.

Season-Long Offers

Military Nights : Every home game this season, current members of our military can purchase up to four upper bowl tickets for $13 each (or $11 in advance at The Zone) with a valid military ID. The offer also extends to veterans who present a VA ID or discharge papers.

The Vault Restaurant and Bar : Enjoy food and drink specials in the Fifth Third Bank Vault prior to every Griffins home game. The full-service restaurant and bar is located inside Van Andel Arena, offers happy hour from 5-6 p.m. and is open for the duration of the game. Call (616) 742-6453 for reservations.
