
Sound Tigers Announce Goals for Groceries Program

Bridgeport, Conn. (Oct. 23, 2012) - The Bridgeport Sound Tigers have announced a new partnership with Citizens Bank to promote their "Goals for Groceries" program during the 2012-13 season.
Each time the Sound Tigers score a goal at home this season, Citizens Bank will donate $20 to the Connecticut Food Bank of New Haven, CT, an organization devoted to alleviating hunger.
"Our community has given so much support to the Sound Tigers over the years," said Howard Saffan, President of the Sound Tigers. "Our 'Goals for Groceries' Program is just one way we can give back to the local community."
Fans can help contribute to the "Goals for Groceries" Program as well. Any fans who bring 10 or more canned goods to select Sound Tigers games will receive a voucher to a future game. Listed below are the following game dates where fans can bring canned goods and participate in the "Goals for Groceries" program.
* Sunday, Nov. 11 vs. CT Whale - 3:00 p.m. * Saturday, Nov. 17 vs. Manchester - 7:00 p.m. * Sunday, Dec. 2 vs. Norfolk - 5:00 p.m. * Sunday, Dec. 9 vs. Syracuse - 3:00 p.m.
"Citizens Bank is thrilled to be teaming up with the Sound Tigers to support the CT Food Bank," said Ned Handy, President of Citizens Bank, Connecticut. "With 55,000 Connecticut residents relying on the Food Bank each day, our support is more important than ever. This partnership will give hockey fans an incredible reason to root on the Sound Tigers this season because when they win, so does the CT Food Bank."
