2013 Schedule Released

October 15, 2012 - Frontier League (FL) Traverse City Beach Bums

TRAVERSE CITY, MI-The Traverse City Beach Bums are excited to announce the 2013 schedule as they continue preparations to enter their eighth season of baseball in Northern Michigan. Opening day is slated for Tuesday, May 21st. Buckle up for a summer of fun with 54 home games in 2013!

Fans can set their minds at ease as annual highlights will be back in 2013. For the first time since 2008 the Beach Bums will open the season on a weekday with Opening Day scheduled for Tuesday, May 21st. The fun will continue the whole week as the Beach Bums finish up a six game homestand Memorial Day weekend against the Rockford RiverHawks. The Beach Bums annual Welcome Home Celebration, honoring veterans and active service military men and women, will be held on Thursday, July 4th and the All-Star Break is slated for July 15th - 18th.

The Beach Bums will be ready to go when they open the 2013 season on the road in Joliet, Illinois on May 17th - May 19th as they have done for the past five seasons. The Frontier League's newest team, the Frontier Greys, will be a travel team replacing the London Rippers in 2013. The Greys will debut at Wuerfel Park on June 7th and will make two additional appearances in both July and August. Get the countdown started today until August 7th - 9th when they'll play host to the defending Frontier League Champions, the Southern Illinois Miners. The Beach Bums final home series will take place August 30th - September 1st against the Schaumburg Boomers before they finish out the regular season on the road in Lake Erie.

Mark your calendars and plan on visiting Wuerfel Park next summer as game times will remain the same in 2013. Monday through Saturday games start at 7:05 PM and Sunday's first pitch is always at 5:05 PM. Fans can find the schedule on the Beach Bums website, www.tcbeachbums.com, under the SCHEDULE tab.
