Washington Wild Things News Release
Washington, PA - The Washington Wild Things, presented by Washington Financial, issued their 2013 baseball schedule Monday.
The Wild Things will host 54 home games during the regular season, according to officials. "There are still 12 teams in the league, but this year there is a travel team, the Frontier Greys," said Steve Zavacky, assistant general manager for the Wild Things. "Since they don't have a home park, we will be home each time we meet them, adding six home games to our regular season schedule."
The Wild Things open the season on the road at Schaumburg on May 17th. They then travel to Rockford for three games. The Washington Home Opener will take place on Memorial Day Weekend (May 24-26).
Washington has tentatively scheduled start times to be at 7:05 p.m. Monday through Saturday and at 5:05 p.m. on Sundays
Washington will wrap up the regular season with six home games that conclude on September 5th.
The Frontier League is an independent minor league with teams in Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, and Missouri.
Wild Things season ticket packages are available at the CONSOL Energy Park box office, which is open weekdays from 9-5. For further information, log onto www.washingtonwildthings.com .
