RENO, Nev.-Tyler Skaggs dealt seven scoreless frames on his birthday Friday night, lifting the Reno Aces to a 7-2 victory over the Salt Lake Bees at Aces Ballpark.

The Aces jumped on the board early, scoring in each of the game's first-three innings. After that, Skaggs (2-0) took care of the rest.

On the day he celebrated his 21st birthday, Skaggs scattered just three hits with six strikeouts and just one base on balls, earning his second-career Triple-A win.

The win marked the Aces' fifth-straight at home, and put Reno in position for its sixth-straight series win at Aces Ballpark.

Reno hit a season-high four home runs on the night, including blasts for Adam Eaton, Mike Jacobs, Ryan Wheeler and A.J. Pollock. Eaton and Jacobs each finished with three hits and a triple shy of the cycle, while Wheeler became Minor League Baseball's first player to reach the 90-RBI plateau this season.

The loss fell to Salt Lake starter Matt Shoemaker (6-8), who surrendered six runs on eight hits over five frames.

The Aces go for the series victory Saturday night at Aces Ballpark. RHP Charles Brewer (4-6, 5.92) toes the slab for Reno, while RHP Trevor Bell (1-5, 7.71 ERA) counters for the Bees. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. PT. Saturday's game will feature the What Could Have Been Weekend Bobblehead giveaway presented by KOLO 8 News Now.
