Albuquerque Isotopes News Release

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - For the second time in three nights, Mother Nature had other ideas than playing baseball, as the doubleheader between the Albuquerque Isotopes (53-39) and Nashville Sounds (40-52) was postponed on Saturday night at Greer Stadium. The two teams will wrap up their rainy series in the Music City with a doubleheader on Sunday beginning at 4:05 PM MT.

After a brief respite from the rain in the afternoon, a heavy system moved into the Nashville area about an hour before the 6:05 PM scheduled start, bringing with it a steady rain. An attempt to wait out the storm proved in vain, as the game was finally called after an hour and a half delay. While one of Saturday's games will be made up on Sunday, the other will be made up as part of a doubleheader during the Isotopes' next visit to Nashville on July 29.

In the first game, the "˜Topes will send right-hander Will Savage (10-3, 5.34) to the mound against Sounds righty Wily Peralta (5-8, 5.10). The night-cap will feature Albuquerque righty reliever Blake Johnson (0-0, 6.39) making a spot start against Nashville right-hander Claudio Vargas (3-1, 4.89). Both contests will be seven-inning affairs.

After a quick trip to the Music City, the Isotopes are right back home Monday for a big eight-game homestand that features a replica jersey giveaway, fireworks, and Dukes Retro Night! Tickets for any Isotopes game may be purchased at the Isotopes Park Box Office, at Ticketmaster outlets, by phone at 1-800-745-3000, or on-line at www.abqisotopes.com or www.ticketmaster.com .
