Chesapeake Baysox News Release
BOWIE, Md. - The Bowie Baysox announce today Christmas in July at Prince George's Stadium Wednesday, July 25 as the team takes on the Richmond Flying Squirrels at 7:05 p.m. Bring the whole family out to the game to meet Santa and celebrate Christmas five months early with Christmas songs and your best holiday outfits.
Fans who are feeling the holiday spirit can bring an unwrapped toy to donate to Louie's Holiday Hope Toy Drive in exchange for an $8 box seat ticket. Along with the discounted ticket, fans will receive a raffle ticket for the chance to win great prizes. The toy must be brought to a special check-in table at the box office in order to receive the ticket. This offer does not apply to the Military Appreciation discount.
Baysox Marketing Director Brandan Kaiser helped organize the event. "Christmas is one of the best times of the year so we decided to celebrate a few months early," Kaiser said. "Louie's Holiday Hope Project gives gifts to underprivileged families in the area, but we need to start collecting now to be ready to help out in December. With your help, the Baysox can continue their positive impact in the community and help these families at the same time."
There will also be a Christmas in July Dinner held in the Diamond View Restaurant. Stadium gates open at 6:00 p.m. and food is served from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. The buffet includes spinach salad, marinated deep fried turkey, oven baked spiral ham, homemade country stuffing, sweet potato wedges, homemade mashed potatoes with gravy, sweet kernel corn, fresh green bean casserole, homemade cranberry sauce and pumpkin and pecan pie with ice cream. Iced tea, coffee, and unlimited soft drinks are also included.
Tickets for the Christmas in July Dinner are $34, or $29 for Baysox ticket plan holders and $10 for children (3-5 years).
